Distance education as an introduction to communicate with art education students to teach minerals in light of the implications of the Corona virus epidemic

Abstract

The field of metalwork is one of the applied technical fields that the student must go through in the stage of preparing him as a teacher for artistic education, which contains many manual plastic methods that are used in the adaptation of different metals and in light of the Coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions, the educational process has been stopped inside universities and colleges to reduce The spread of the disease and thus the need for distance education increased in the emergency conditions that the world is going through everywhere, so Ain Shams University was one of the first universities to open the door to distance education.
This research aims to use distance education as an entry point to communicate with students of art education with the subject of metalworking in light of the conditions in which the world lives due to the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic, through the following:
1- Training students to use online education to overcome the practical nature of metalworking material, by taking advantage of the features and tools of the (Microsoft Teams) program, which facilitates the educational process of applied materials, such as the video conference feature) - and Share desktop feature. Desktop)) - and the feature of text chat)) - and the ability to attach files through (attachment) - in addition to the ability to record the lecture to listen to it again through the (recording) feature

2- Overcoming the repercussions imposed in light of the Coronavirus epidemic, including the ban and non-mixing, which led to the difficulty in obtaining the metal (copper) necessary to complete their curriculum by using materials that are easy to obtain from the surrounding environment, such as aluminum foil. The work of experiments, followed by the implementation of artifacts, and the results of some of these experiments and artworks were presented, which numbered 17 experiments and 11 metal crafts made by students.
