Abstract

The research deals with a historical and design description of A condiment pot of copper dating back to the second half of the 13th century AH - the second half of the 19th century AD and is published research for the first time and is one of the pieces of cutlery used in the second half of the 19th century AD and represents an artifact Distinctive and which shows many aspects of the art wonderful in terms of design and material used and the extent of sophistication shown by the manufacturer, which contains in the design many indications of the interest of the manufacturer at that time the artistic form and not only to make a piece for the use intended only but showed many in it The art forms that made it an archaeological masterpiece that still retains its beauty and is now one of the rich pieces preserved at the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo.
One of the main factors that accelerated the pace of technical progress in human society was the manufacture of metal tools, which had a profound impact on human civilization. It is known that during the early Islamic ages, the metalwork industry was inspired by some of the local industrial and decorative traditions that prevailed in the open countries, as were other arts.
During the period between the fifth and seventh centuries of migration, the Islamic arts in general flourished, which in turn was reflected in the metalwork, which reached a high level in terms of the use of various decorative themes and technical methods that are clearly reflected in the industrial production of artists throughout the subsequent periods.
Among the most famous mineral products are pitchers of different shapes, and in most cases they have a long handle and extended faucet and may be adorned with animal or human drawings in limited areas, but predominant in it before Islam is the simplicity of the decoration, and the beauty of the pitchers that are engraved on their shapes are various forms and inlaid with contracts and decorative rosettes and birds and animals drawings And trees.
