The concept and characteristics of abstraction in Islamic art and its impact on the development of contemporary designs in the field of designing Architectural iron works

Abstract

Abstraction in Islamic art is the basis on which this artistic heritage is built on its heritage and the diversity of its fields, and this research study examined the factors affecting the formation of this artistic style.
In Islamic civilization, as well as the most important mechanisms, vocabulary and characteristics of the abstract method in Islamic art.
The research problem has crystallized in how to benefit from the intellectual premises and artistic methods of Islamic artistic heritage as a source of contemporary creativity in the field of design in general and in particular in the field of designing architectural iron works.
The research aimed at contemporary design solutions in the field of designing decorative ironwork, based in its origins on philosophy and design characteristics of abstraction in Islamic art.
The research boundaries included conducting an analytical study of the philosophy of abstraction in Islamic art, its design mechanisms and the possibility of benefiting from it in the field of designing iron works.
The research methodology was based on two research methodologies:
The first: (descriptive analytical method) to collect and analyze information related to the research topic.
The second: (experimental approach) to develop innovative designs in the field of designingarchitectural iron works based on the design principles of abstraction in Islamic art.
The research included two main axes:
The first axis: It includes studying the philosophy and characteristics of design in Islamic art.
The second axis: Basics of architectural iron works design according to the design characteristics of abstraction in Islamic art
Abstract thought in Islamic art was formed in the light of Islamic belief and the contemplative vision of the Muslim artist crystallized his own direction of abstraction, and the triangle of progress in engineering science and mathematics is the main archeology in the abstract formulations of the Muslim artistThe study found:
- The abstract decorative vocabulary of Islamic art represented building units of a standard style, which enabled the use of these units in the formulation of artistic and design works in the diversity of their fields in Islamic art, as well as the possibility of employing these standard decorative vocabulary in contemporary design works of architectural ironwork..
The research study recommended the importance of studying historical and contemporary artistic models with the aim of enriching creative thinking in the field of design in general and in particular in the field of iron works design .
