The past of architecture is a part of its essence and its manifestation of the present, for the proposed relationship between new and old architecture requires that we stand on what the new wants to restore from the old, and this that it can achieve in the event of a paradox.
Perhaps the return to the past does not stop at the field of memory and the lesson of the traditional framework of architecture, but in many cases it serves as an effective way to stimulate relationships in the present, and work to concentrate one's presence in the group's past, as an active and uninformed asset so that the presence of the past and its appearance are based on the stimuli of the present.
As a result, the traditional architecture of southern Tunisia (the oasis residence as a model) is a formative energy inherent in a hidden architecture. A building inhabited by reality with all its interwoven and interdependent dimensions, so traditional architecture classified habitat, a way of life, and demonstrated the ability to adapt to the environment, matching the shape of buildings with their environment, social needs and functional requirements.
Analyzing and documenting this architectural model is possible, but the question arises: what happens after reading, enumeration, collection, analysis and documentation? By addressing the problem of the management of traditional residential spaces, it has been shown that the success of the evaluation of the current reality of these housing units requires the identification of faults and their resolution.
The rehabilitation plan not only aims to provide solutions, but also offers possibilities for stabilization of what could be after the implementation of these solutions. What the ancestors left behind was considered a cultural, aesthetic, philosophical and creative heritage, and scientific and technical effort could not really eliminate the experiences and experiences left by the ancestors, the fact that the environment that is formed and was formed through the accumulated experiences of many generations was not formed in vain, but there were laws and customs that govern the urban system in all its details.
Seeing this heritage goes beyond nostalgia for the past, to contemplate it with realistic visions. Where's the memory now? What is the probability of activating spare memory on the bearings of the present?
