Abstract

Public art reflects the development of human civilization and is a means of expressing the identity of a society. Public art achieves the educational aspect of heritage, reflects the course of development of human civilization, achieves the social aspect, and is a means to enhance personal freedoms to express the identity of society. It is defined as a form of collective societal expression and is a reflection of how we see the world and the artist's response to time and place and our sense of the world. It is placed in public places and is available to all. It may be placed in the entrances to public buildings. Public art depends on the industrial technologies of each era, and depends on the skillful abilities of the artist to achieve innovation and the development of social life.

Public art is a legacy that reflects the development of human civilization throughout history, and its social and economic continuity. Therefore, the research problem lies in the lack of Egyptian urban protection projects for the role that public art plays in contributing to the preservation of urban areas. As well as not being perceived as a value that must be preserved.
This research aims to increase awareness of public art and strengthen the relationship between it and urban conservation. To achieve this goal, a descriptive approach is used to find out the relationship between public art and urban conservation. The analytical approach selects a set of Egyptian experiences that are used for public art as a means of urban preservation and to monitor how heritage affects public art. Then, he used the deductive and extractive approach and determined the importance of the relationship with the urban heritage.
The research concludes with the interaction between public art and urban heritage, and how each affects the other, and how modern technological technologies affect them.
