Methodology for applying design thinking to design glass tableware supplements

Abstract

The interest in design thinking has begun because it is considered one of the most important problem-solving methods that suit all fields.
Design thinking is defined as a way of thinking primarily based on focusing on the beneficiaries and identifying their real needs in order to create value for these needs and to provide the best solution.
We design solutions to problems through creative, innovative human-centered thinking and a deep understanding of the target audience, their challenges, needs, culture and lifestyle. These solutions may be in the form of a change in systems and strategies, or in the form of developing goods and products, or in the form of providing or developing services, so design thinking must be an integral part of the processes of developing and managing glass products, especially tableware, because there is an increasing need. To integrate creativity in departments to develop and introduce the best tableware glass product And some supplements that did not exist before.
- Glass tableware: tableware is divided into eating utensils and drinking tools, food utensils are everything that is placed on the table and food is served in it of all different sizes, and drink tools is also everything that contains the drink and is placed on the table
- Glass tableware supplements: They are all household utensils, whether in the kitchen or on the table and not among the previous tableware, and are characterized by contemporaneity and keep pace with rapid change and according to needs of customers
.The research problem is determined in the following two questions:
• Does the practice of design thinking help to create new visions in the process of designing glass tableware supplements and help to develop them?
• Is there a relationship between design thinking, creativity and innovation in the design of glass tableware supplements?
Research Objective:
• Establishing a methodology for applying design thinking in the field of glass tableware supplements
• Identify the real needs of the beneficiaries in the field of tableware supplements and provide them with the best solutions.
The importance of research:
• A methodology that can be applied in the field of industrial glass design meets the real needs of the beneficiaries.
Research hypothesis:
• setting up a methodology for applying design thinking in the field of glass tableware supplements that creates a new value for the product and meets the current and future needs of the beneficiaries.
