Aesthetics geometric shape in Islamic arts and it's modern applications

Abstract

The Islamic heritage is full of artistic treasures which forms it's unique personality through ages. The geometrical forms and shapes are the most important elements used by the Muslim artist for surface ornaments and also the most applied as it becomes one of the special properties for Islamic art.
The Muslim artist uses geometrical shapes in various kinds of surfaces ornaments as wooden and architectural surfaces.
The roots of main shapes and ornaments used in Islamic arts are taken from artistic traditions before Islam but the Muslim artist modified these shapes till he reaches abstract geometrical shapes which in this time was an Islamic innovation.
The research also studies the geometrical structure for these shapes with analyzing  and study the aesthetics of these ornaments from structural geometry, formation and balance sides which earned it a special character enriched Islamic arts and formed it's authentic personality. Also the research displays some modern applications models for expedience products as tries to bring back this great artistic heritage to life and use it's elements in aesthetic and functional way with modern visions.
