Abstract

By prof. Wadeaa A. Boukar ,  Title : form and content in the Islamic civilization and its influence on contemporary arts. In order to recognize any civilization history, habits and circumstances scientists study the remnant of artifacts and tools of the era. studying the archeology of the civilization can determent the level of advancement and originality or elsewise. The Islamic rule was mainly focused on humanitarian and civilized science. hence,  the Islamic civilization is also is a religious community therefore it was a combination of the mind and soul. The Islamic territory spread wide from (Alandalous) Spain to China in the Amawi ruling at the time the western world was deep in the dark ages.  The existences of a lenient believe created considerable levels of leisure and stability for artists that fueled aesthetics among the public along with the awareness of (halal : what is allowed in the Islamic religion ) and (haram : what is prohibited in the Islamic religion ) . The believe that came from the holy Quran which contributed in the upbringing of the taste and sensibility of beauty in its perspective. And upon it the schools of modernism  began at  the renaissance or the enlightenment in Europe as an outcome of readings of Arab philosophers. Therefor the research with discuss the following: traces of the Islamic civilization in contemporary western art paintings !  and the paper goal is :  the explanation  of the traces from the Islamic civilization in contemporary western art painting that is some way has shaped the personality and art of western artists.  Then the utilization of this analysis in the confirming the substantial affect the Islamic civilization had on modern western arts. And this paper assumptions  are : the research assumes the western artist being affected by some of the content of the Islamic civilization in paintings in their art.
The research is cosistant of three chapters :

The Islamic civilization and its unique content.
Painting in contemporary western arts , the beginning and history.
The influence of the Islamic civilization contents on western contemporary arts an analytic study.

Main conclusion from the researcher: the substantial influence of the Islamic civilization on paintings in western contemporary arts , and the recommendation is to give attention and care for the Islamic arts and its civilization for its substantial influence and significant importance
