Islamic content and its effect in crystalizing the design vision of contemporary housing

Abstract

Concerning the designs of architectural contemporary , one can notes that urban fabric character does not fit with the traditions of our society or realize the values which advocated by religion . As this urban fabric is rarefied carries the character of separate buildings, and the design oriented to outside, giving a sense of disintegration and isolationist. This came after , the large interest that housing have received in the Arab-Muslim heritage , beside fulfilling several properties working  to achieve the assets of Islamic thought, specially – the privacy - this value which was absent from the contemporary designer , as a result of transferring and copying of western architecture that do not comply with our traditions and habits .
Islamic thought has considered achieving an adequate system inside the house through the verses of Koran and Hadith. So the design determinants of contemporary interior spaces must coat the needs of the individual within the housing in accordance with the regulations of religion and behaviors of the society in which we live.
