Sustainable interior Design and its impact on school buildings

Abstract

School is one of the most important institutions used by the community in the formation of a citizen capable of thinking, work and production, attention to school buildings and improve their conditions in terms of quantity and quality helps to improve the efficiency of the educational process. The importance of research study in applying the standards of sustainability and technological development to achieve all the efficiency of school building. Which vary from the efficiency of the building to the environment in how  to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs. and the efficiency of technological development. There is a great lack of awareness in the implementation of sustainability standards on school buildings. It is not easy to access sustainable interior design in schools without behavioral and psychological study for users.
The study aims at applying the standards and requirements of sustainability in the interior design environment of the school buildings to achieve the highest performance of the internal environment and to produce generations of rational behavior towards the environment. The interior design is a connect to several elements including lighting, ventilation and materials, and adding sustainability to each element produces sustainable interior design. During the research study we found the  ease of applying sustainability on the basics of interior design elements from the idea of ​​architectural design, direction of the building and architectural openings, to the use of smart systems and energy-saving technology, which help to make easier and faster interaction with the environment.
