Abstract

Abstract:
Furniture is an integral element of architecture. The furniture design depends on the function and the internal space which it will be placed into. This research will display the evolution of the furniture in modern design trends, where the furniture design has moved from static to dynamic. New styles of furniture like smart furniture, interactive furniture and evolutionary furniture are more useful than old styles. Evolutionary furniture includes dynamic multi-purpose furniture which can be transformed from one shape to another to fit the internal space in its various forms, whether in its normal state or in the case of changing the space in the future.
The research will display the definition of the evolutionary furniture and its characteristics by studying some of geometric shapes and modern materials. Evolutionary furniture is flexible and easy evolves as some pieces are foldable and the others are extensible.
The research will also display several models of the evolutionary furniture with its analysis in terms of form, material and motion, which show their ability to evolve with the interior design evolution.
research problem:
Furniture design is directly related to interior spaces, so when the space becomes dynamic, it requires flexibility in both interior design and furniture to fit the new internal space. Therefore, traditional fixed pieces of furniture do not meet the need, so we need evolutionary furniture that evolves with internal space.
Search Goal:
The need for evolutionary furniture where have the ability to evolve with the evolution of the interior spaces.
