Abstract:
The contemporary artist seeks to revolutionize the inherited traditional concepts, by emphasizing the emotional intellectual dimension of the material, which has become one of the most important means of expression in figurative artwork. To open new cognitive and aesthetic horizons, to re-represent the visible world through direct and indirect expression that is manifested in his observation of the nature and essence of the material, preserving its realism, as his level of expression rises to the level of philosophy and intellectual transcendence, thus gaining it the energy to graduate it from its familiar state. In the form of metaphorical ideas and visions that turn into deep symbolic connotations that carry sensory images with which the recipient interacts by retrieving his knowledge and culture; It is also an invitation to contemplation, reflection, and reinterpretation of the nature around him that leads him to realize the hidden values behind the shape of the material.
This research discusses the intellectual and emotional dimension of the material, which has gone beyond the limits of form, to make it the language of expression through which the artist addresses his audience, summoning the rest of the senses. The research aims to develop the creative side of art students, especially students of the College of Art Education, by revealing the intellectual and emotional dimensions of the subject in contemporary painting, as well as raising the level of contemporary plastic arts artistically and aesthetically .
