Contemporary illustration art is one of the most diverse forms of visual communication. It has expanded to include: Drawing, digital painting, photography, handicrafts and others. The illustrations contributed to the preservation of heritage and the dissemination of science and knowledge, which helped in the development of human capabilities and social life.
And on the other side, Illustrations coloring media varies between transparent and opaque, and the forms of its filling vary between dry, soft, liquid, and powders. Despite the aesthetic and expressive capabilities of each medium separately, the technique of mixed media has increasingly spread today, for its ability to express in a more free and attractive manner. The term mixed media combines more than one medium, such as merging different materials and techniques, and allows a larger space during work. The first axis in the research deals with the importance of illustrations in the development of human capabilities and social life, and therefore the interest in the means of its implementation came as a second axis, while the third axis presents the importance of mixed media in creating illustrations with a distinctive personality, with models presented by the researcher teaching this technique to students in the implementation media curriculum.
The problem is due to the scarcity and paucity of illustrations in the Arab publishing media, and if they exist, they are few and superficial, or have an old and recurring vision.
As well as the scarcity of research in the field of the art of illustration with drawings and pictures, due to its recent inception as a classification and science taught in colleges and technical institutes, and the absence of its specific definitions in scientific references until writing this research.
The importance of research lies in the importance of the presence of illustrations in growing publication media. On the other hand, the means of implementation and the technique of mixing them, provides an attractive method and a new unconventional vision, that can contribute to filling the needs of publishing media, and raising the level of the Arab world in this field.
The aim of the research is to reach a new innovative vision in Arabic publishing graphics, by highlighting the mixed media merging technology, which can provide a wide and distinctive creative field.
