Contemporary pottery; plastic (formative) approach to document national identity

Abstract

Art culture has a main role in enhancement of convergence between the Arabs, due to the resemblance of formative formulas that reflect genuineness of the culture features, to the point that many art historians consider that pottery is one of the ancient art that should be taken care of out of fear for it from fading out. In order for this craft to continue in the Arab reality, we have to determine a conscious strategy to benefit from the craft of pottery in rooting the national identity, so there can be a national and international competition among most of the Arab communities, through introduction of a suggested vision with distinguished artistic, Arabic formulas that have productive style that combines characteristics of pottery with the national identity.
From this point appears the problem of the research; after the technological advancement that took place during the last years in the Arab countries, rooting heritage crafts has become a national duty. That’s why we have to put a tight strategy through caring about documentation and recording the art of pottery as a unique heritage product. From this approach the problem of the research can be determined in the following question: how can the art of pottery be a cultural entrance to root the identity of the Arab people?
The research hypothesis is limited to; the art of pottery manufacture is considered a cultural entrance to root the Arab people identity. The research aims at activating the art of pottery in rooting the Arabic identity of the people, and charging the Arabic cultural inheritances to keep the national identity. The research methodology follows the descriptive, analytical approach in a theoretical frame. The research importance confirms that contribution in employment of pottery art helps in rooting the identity of the Arabic people.
