The effectiveness of a training program for children in nursing homes using the circular loom to develop their cognitive and skill skills

Abstract:

Children need care from the early stages of their lives, as the importance of providing them with care lies in improving their behavior and dealing with others.

Social solidarity and caring for all members of society is a common social responsibility for the advancement of societies and states and the preservation of the rights of their children.





Handicrafts are also an added value to the national economy, as they contribute to providing diverse job opportunities and are in line with the state's vision, which aims to support marginalized groups of society and improve the quality of life for them.

Among the categories that we will choose as an indicative sample in this research are the children of care homes who see life without a breadwinner for them to help them with the hardships of life, and the material need poses a threat to the safety and life of these children, hence the aim of the research in creating a training program to provide them with some manual skills that help them in After starting a small project in employing their energy in a positive way, developing their capabilities and their knowledge of what is the circular loom and how to fill it with some textile structures and implement them on the loom with the aim of making artistic pieces to satisfy their personal needs in the implementation of some utilitarian products and selling them to benefit from their financial return.

This training was applied to (20) girls from a nursing home institution and trained according to a training program. The results of the study showed the effectiveness of the training application in providing children of care homes with some knowledge of the circular loom and its settlement. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) in developing Knowledge and skills of the experimental group
