Abstract

The ancient Egyptian formulated his symbols according to the prevailing ideologies at the time and the philosophies associated with them to make them an element of the divine world in logical foundations based on sensory perception. Taking into account the relationship of the idea with emotion. This formulation depends on moving to reach the appropriate design that enriches the overall picture through its submission to the foundations of the design and the formative relationships that serve the idea and the formal richness together. Which makes it an inexhaustible source as it transforms the phenomenon into an idea and the idea into mental impressions since mental impressions are always effective.

The symbols of the ancient Egypt contained the attribute of generality and privacy together, where the general characteristics of that civilization and the special characteristic inherent in the artist's special vision of those symbols and the way of expressing and forming them.

The purposes for which the symbolic designs were used varied, some of which were

to express the fear of deities and the dangers of the other world; victories of kings; creation of the universe and life on earth; Protecting man in his life on earth or saving man after his death from the evils of the afterlife world. Every mythical concept was symbolized by a specific symbol of the sacred world, where the symbol was inseparable from the myth, but not the symbol of legend.

Therefore, his symbols were inspired by myths such as the beginning of the creation of the universe or the god of protection, the disk of the sun, and the moon. He did not neglect the nature around him, as he was inspired by his symbols and designs from plant elements such as the lotus flower, animal elements such as hippopotamus and reptiles such as the snake in its various forms and the human element or parts of it (such as Eye of Horus(
