Abstract
the research is interested in identifying the features and characteristics of independent movies language shown on websites and digital platforms, independent movies have different styles and language of expression, and they also use all the available artistic, technical and creative possibilities using technological development, especially after entering digital cameras, The evolution of the medium has continued with the entry of high speeds of the Internet and its control over societies, Digital platforms have emerged as an evolution of the idea of video on demand (VOD) and became an element of attraction for independent filmmakers. And these films have characteristics and distinct linguistic features that distinguish them from other commercial films Independent movie is considered to have a complex term and one of its most important meanings is that independent filmmakers prefer to be completely independent of sponsors, investors and producers and therefore there are different movies, especially in the way movies are financing and distributing, Therefore, it is important to know the type of medium used and the role of digital technology and digital processors that have revolutionized the image, sound, visual and sound effects and led to the emergence of a new styles of movies in its themes, digital tools, methods of distribution and editing, in the shooting stage and post-production and display methods such as the use of digital platforms. Thus, the audience's viewing habits have changed and the emergence of competitive platforms such as Netflix and a number of other competing platforms, and the increasing number of subscribers to digital platforms and the diversity of ideas, competition the emergence of Arab competing platforms, and the entry of the internet has significantly changed the film industry. Then define the film language because it is the way of expressing feelings and thoughts and visions of the audience and the language in visual work, whether it is cinema, television, platform, or whatever medium is used. And then mention the artistic types from which the language of independent movies has developed and the influential elements of this language of image construction (shot size, angles and camera movement), composition (mass, color, line), accessories, makeup and clothing, and there are sound elements such as (dialogue, sound effects and music) and montage.
