Abstract

The study of the history of interior architecture in architecture departments is important to the design process. This leads to the utilization of the aspects, vocabulary and methodology of the subject of modern internal architecture in preparing a student who masters the skills of innovative design. This could be achieved through analyzing internal and external elements of buildings. Such analysis is to be performed in and applied manner to the internal architecture design.

From this point, this research aims to highlight, in details, the role of learning and teaching technology within the process of education. This paper also illustrates students' activities in searching and data collecting and linking and analyzing that with cinematic scenes. This could be considered as a support and enhancement of expression elements of design of internal space. Such acquired skills help to develop student's design abilities. The curriculum of "20th Century of interior Design" (which is one of the optional subjects taught in an Egyptian university during different academic stages) indicates a creative trend for teaching by search and analysis. All steps are methodically organized to achieve application and innovation besides providing students with knowledge and design skills.

To achieve the aim of the study, a theoretical framework of previous studies is to be established, together with reviewing a set of students' assignments (drawings and research analytics). A questionnaire has been distributed to seventy students to show their role in developing student's design abilities. The study aims also to find out the relationship that links cinema, learning architectural history and modern architectural movements and the role of activities and study duties in the scheduled curriculum. The intension is to find a way to amalgamate the educational Constructivist Theories (implied knowledge) with the theory of Herbartianism and Keller's Model of Motivational Design (KRCS) in the science of fundamental teaching.
