Aesthetic values of minarets in Islamic architecture

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the aesthetic values of minarets in Islamic architecture ‎and revealing the aesthetic dimensions of the minaret in Islamic architecture. Also ‎reveal the beautiful formation of decorative unites in mosques minaret, utilizing ‎from ancient Islamic art by deep studying of aesthetic Islamic mosques and its ‎minarets, highlighting the Islamic architecture level and its development. ‎

Analytical descriptive methodology was applied to utilize its mechanisms to ‎achieve the objectives of this study, also the comparative analytical methodology to ‎make a sequential analysis and comparison between the old and the modern across ‎development, as well as observational deductive analytical methodology by detailed ‎analytical studying of minarets, and providing some thoughts, and monitoring it by ‎observations and revision. ‎

A control sample was chosen, it was the sample that the researcher decided to ‎represent the architecture formation of many minarets in many mosques of Islamic ‎world, and she chose a sample of the same shape for minarets in mosques in the ‎Kingdom.‎

She used observation as a tool to acquire information and details from observation ‎only, also direct, regular and specified observation of some aspects and observe it.‎

The researcher achieved many findings the most significant amongst is that Islamic ‎minarets designs accompanied most of Islamic architecture and it points to a type of ‎symbols and signs, and that the aesthetic values of the minarets are manifested in ‎Islamic architecture and show the spirit and quality of the artist in Islamic ‎architecture as a whole, and that the Islamic religion was not isolated from other ‎cultures and spots, but was influencing and being affected, which was evident ‎through His interest in art in Islamic architecture.‎

Key recommendations of this study came about the vitality of aesthetic architecture ‎and form groups that are interested in Islamic art in modern ages, also to connect ‎philosophy patterns with Islamic architecture, and work on forming a specialized ‎authority concerned about Islamic architecture. ‎
