Abstract

France is one of the countries that adopted the emergence of the field of designing decorative cotton textile printing at the end of the seventeenth century in Europe. The Toiles de Jouy factory is one of the most important of these factories. It was established by Philippe Oberkampf (1815-1738), who was a pioneer of the industrial revolution in France in At this time, his works took from the scenery of landscapes and some snapshots of daily life as a source of inspiration for them in producing a great deal of creations that combined the art of hand drawing on copper plates and the art of textile printing, and from here the research problem was in the question: How can we benefit from scenes Landscapes in the designs of Toiles to enrich the designs of women's textiles? The research aims to explore the aesthetic values in the works of Toiles de Jouy as a source for creating designs for printing women's fabrics with a contemporary vision through technical analysis of some of these works and creating a group of designs for women's fabrics by drawing inspiration from these works with a contemporary vision. The research assumes that identifying the aesthetics of landscapes in Toiles de Jouy is an important and rich source of inspiration for contemporary designs commensurate with the needs of consumers. Research methodology: Artistic analytical approach: First: landscape scene elements in Toile de Jouy designs (human elements - elements of animal and bird drawings - elements of fairy tale drawings). Second: some plastic values in Toile de Jouy designs in terms of the role of calligraphy in (Illusion of dimensions and depth - illusion of shadow and light - illusion of touch - linear rhythm in the composition). Experimental approach: by realizing a set of designs inspired by Toiles de Jouy and applying them to the design of women's printed fabrics. Statistical method: a questionnaire for a sample of women as the main user of the product. To measure the acceptance of these designs and their preferences
