Various techniques of environmentally friendly furniture and their impact on the design of the interior space

The increasing concern about global warming and the subsequent impact on our planet made individuals focus on their own practices in the multiple interior spaces (home, work, ..) and how they contribute to the health of the earth. As a result, eco-friendly interior design is a growing trend as implementing sustainable practices can impact everyone's carbon footprint and keep excess pollution out of the air, water, and landfills. Thus, the shift towards “environmentally friendly” design can improve public health and the well-being of the planet in accordance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the vision of Egypt 2030.

Therefore, the focus in this study will be on the steps that the interior designer follows in order to be able to reduce the harmful effects of designing furniture for various purposes and his techniques for designing environmental furniture by making some modifications to the current furniture visually and functionally.

Various aspects of eco-friendly furniture design will be studied, including plastic recycling and rethinking manufacturing waste and post-consumer waste, which are two of the most common ways these creative minds embrace sustainability in order to enable a more circular economy. To activate this, the difference between green design and sustainable design will be studied and This is followed by a study of the main characteristics of environmentally friendly furniture and the many advantages of designing environmentally friendly furniture and the considerations that must be available in it to design furniture that is not only environmentally suitable, but also visually and aesthetically distinct, in addition to presenting some applications of environmentally friendly furniture with various technologies and materials to provide the opportunity to be inspired creatively and to keep the designer in touch With the latest global environmental efforts in the field of designing environmentally friendly furniture, it was concluded and confirmed that the sources of environmentally friendly materials and the design of innovative furniture are all an important part of sustainability
