Abstract

Strategic planning has become an inevitable necessity as an approach to thinking and a method of work, in response to the large external pressures that have become facing industrial facilities. Strategic planning can be defined as the process of making decisions, setting goals and strategies, implementing them and following them up. the available resources and managing them in order to reach the desired goals. The main goal of strategic planning is the process of developing the organization’s mission, objectives and policies in order to achieve an orderly transition from a current position to a targeted future position.

The research problem is limited to the need of many of the currently faltering textile facilities for development in the absence of proper planning, and accordingly, the application of strategic planning in those facilities is the ideal solution to treat this problem. Achieve cooperation between them and other departments so that the ability of the facility as a whole can be increased to compete and develop.

The research also assumes that through the application of strategic planning within the design department of the textile establishment, it can be developed, and this is reflected in the ability of the establishment as a whole to continue and compete in the local and international markets.

It is also assumed that achieving cooperation and integration between the design and marketing departments has a positive impact on the textile establishment and achieves its goals related to customer satisfaction.

The research relies on the analytical and empirical approach by applying the concept of strategic planning to design management in one of the faltering textile facilities, and to find out how to improve its performance and development.

The research also dealt with identifying specific tasks for the design department and work procedures to implement them with the best performance and the least time. It also dealt with the steps of designing and implementing a special order for a customer as a model for improving performance after implementing the development
