Abstract

summary :

In our study, we present a model of the tangible heritage left by the ancient man of Oman, and we call this study the title "Fort of Beit Al-Rudaydah Throughout History", this majestic building that still tells the historical events that passed on its land and between its corridors. The importance of this study lies in several aspects, including the refutation of different opinions regarding the percentage of building the fort, the pioneering role it played and the most prominent events that took place on its yard. The problem of the study is summarized in a number of questions, the most important of which is what is the accepted opinion in naming this fort by this name, and what are the historical events that occurred in it throughout its history. The study used the descriptive approach to describe the construction of the fort, and followed the approach of analyzing the novels and comparing them with reality. Also, the methodology of comparison with analogues was one of the tools that were judged in this study to come up with the closest and most accurate possibilities. The study concluded with several results, including the great similarity between the construction of the Bait Al-Rudaida Fort and the Bait Al-Falaj Fort in terms of building material and name, which makes us confirm that it was built in the Al-Bu Said era, as it turned out to us that the fort went through many historical events in which some of the Busaid gentlemen recorded many achievements that prove the return of ownership of this fort to them, The study concluded that the fort embraced many historical events when it was in the grip of the Nabahna sheikhs, especially during the era of Imam Salem bin Rashid Al Kharousi, Imam Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Khalili, and Imam Ghalib bin Ali Al Hinai.
