Abstract

The world in the twenty-first century faces many challenges as a result of the succession of different revolutions represented in the scientific technologically and cognitively, which have a great impact on applied sciences and all these variables led to the impact in various fields and the field of industrial design is one of the most important areas that are affected with the various changes, we find that the design process differs and is affected by technology, so future thinking has an important role in product design, where future thinking depends on understanding the driving factors and various possible scenarios that can To occur in the future and be in which what is desirable from the point of view of the designer with what is technically and economically possible in the future and through which creative ideas can be generated to design (products - services - systems) The research aims to codify the role of future thinking skills in product design and aims to clarify the difference between design thought and future thought to design products as it aims to clarify different skills for design, including the skill of forecasting and developing different scenarios for the design process and the role of this in the different stages of the design program and the research was divided into the theoretical framework and deduction, as for the theoretical framework, it was presented what future thinking is and included definitions of thinking and definitions of thinking Futuristic based on the opinions of some researchers and included the theoretical framework also on the skills of future thinking represented in seven skills was also presented a pivotal part of the research, which is the difference between future thinking versus design thinking in the future of product design and then came the stage of deduction and in which the future thinking of products was reached in several different processes and each of them aims to fill a void in the design program for future design and then concluded the research with results and recommendations
