Abstract

Jordanian society has long recognized the value of historical properties and the cultural heritage of civilization, and has worked in parallel with the global requirements for "heritage preservation" and sustainable development and the role of local communities in it, which is considered a strengthening of international agreements on the protection of cultural and natural heritage and its development through restoration and revitalization of these properties, it is A collective effort through international advisory such as World Heritage.

The idea of restoration seems ideal if the specificity of the context and current needs are taken into account. It may be able to create valuable opportunities for the development of preserving the architectural style and this legacy of extinction, by turning it into a useful space in both theoretical and practical terms, and achieving public benefit.

The Greater Amman Municipality contributed, responding to the appeal the World Heritage Administration, by beginning to acquire “these properties, rehabilitate them, and employ them in an appropriate manner, and it adopted and implemented many similar projects in Jordan, and among these works was the house of the first prime minister in the Kingdom of Jordan, the state of (Ibrahim Hashem), which was appropriately rehabilitated after an agreement was concluded with the German Jordanian University "to be re-employed and annexed to the university", and the accuracy of its construction reflects the local architectural character of the old city of Amman derived from the Arab-Islamic arts on nineteenth century AD, to be part of the German Jordanian University.
