Abstract

The importance of the artwork planning process lies in its functional role, which includes generating ideas, solving problems, discovering new relationships between different elements through their arrangement and coordination between their parts and their counterparts, as well as testing the suitability of work concepts with the techniques and methods used in its implementation.

The research deals with the concept of preparatory studies in the field of painting as an important stage for recording the artist's subjective thoughts and emotions and the modification and development that occur to them.

In light of the digital transformation and the penetration of digital technology in all aspects of life, there has become an urgent need to provide educational institutions’ programs in all its forms with concepts, techniques and methods associated with digital technology to support the learning process. The field of arts comes as one of the most important fields that benefited from the use of digital technology with its outputs, it is also a good way to create greater interaction with the recipient as it engages the mind and conscience.

The research highlights the use of digital media in studies and preparatory drawings, and keeping pace with the technological development-taking place in graphic hardware and software applications. In order to enrich the artistic vision and reach art solutions in a smoother manner and with broader capabilities that help give the artist a greater ability to link the idea to the image and employ the structural relationships in a manner appropriate with the aesthetic values of the work.

The research aims to provide students with a set of basic skills in dealing with graphic applications to carry out preparatory studies through a program consisting of a number of interviews, in order to measure the extent of improvement in performance among students after applying the program compared to before its application on the conceptual and expressive level on the one hand and on the technical level On the other hand,
