Abstract

The spatial size of the interspaces plays a fundamental role in demonstrating the aesthetic value of the three-dimensional work of art, if the form as a whole is reconciled with the structural elements that make up it, which creates what is called spatial tension, r. Therefore, this study took advantage of this relationship between the diversity of the interspaces and the suggestion it creates of a vacuum breast, in developing the skills of teaching students how to build a metal sculpture. It suggests movement and change. During the research experiment, Al-Baha was keen to teach students how to build a three-dimensional work of art that achieves movement by organizing its plastic vocabulary by exploiting the spaces between them and the spatial tension between them to demonstrate this. It was also keen for the works to be characterized by the ability to interact so that the recipient can interact with them by moving some of their parts to obtain New and diverse formal variables, the movement appears differently each time, and to achieve this it relied on the method of assembly and connection. The vocabulary of the plastic work is collected through simple and flexible methods of connection that achieve the possibility of interaction and change, such as interlocking half on half or assembling with nuts, upright columns and screws. It is one of the non-fixed rivet methods that allows the possibility of moving the components and controlling them by tightening or loosening the nuts or changing the movement of the components’ engagement, in addition to Fixed, which allows the components to be intertwined, in addition to assembling the components of the solid work in a way that achieves the presence of various interspaces, which contributes to the effectiveness of the spatial tension between those parts and achieves a kind of interconnection and non-actual movement, or what is called the discretionary movement of the general shape of the metal solid. The results of the research fulfilled its hypotheses, which were achieved by the student experience through their learning of the value of the tension forces for the interspaces, the value of movement, the quantities of its realization, and the Turkish laws that help in this.
