Abstract

The club’s journey began at the hands of Dr. Thabet Al-Fandi, professor of philosophy at the College of Arts, in the 1950s. It emerged as an association affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs. The club is based on many committees that seek to serve faculty members. Despite the services that the club provides to faculty members and their families, it greatly lacks proper design standards for the internal space, especially the recreational space in the restaurant area, and the club’s real estate registration office.

Within the framework of the interest of architecture and interior architecture design in particular in studying and designing the spatial environment that the individual uses and protection from external environmental factors, taking into account the size of the spatial space of the place in addition to some technical and design considerations to ensure the achievement of a space with a high degree of efficiency in the quality of the internal environment. The research presents a proposal to develop the interior space of the first floor of the faculty club, which includes the restaurant space and the documentation office. This is due to the problems that led to confusion in the design concept between the internal entertainment and administrative functions, which leads to discomfort and lack of productivity by the staff, whether in the restaurant or the documentation office, through improving the interior design of the faculty club by achieving the standards of internal environmental quality. IEQ to enhance sustainability and contribute to improving design, which achieves efficiency and well-being for the club’s faculty visitors.
