This research studies the nature of this disease, the psychological effects, psychological behavior of this disease and its moods, and studies the conditions, design standards, and appropriate materials that They must be available in hospital spaces (hospitals, resorts, or clinics) and their security and safety requirements. The research also dealt with an analysis of some therapeutic hospitals specialized in mental illnesses and a study of the design standards that can be taken into account in the spaces of this type of hospital in terms of natural lighting, colors, ventilation, and contact with nature in order to lead to the study. The applied research, which consisted of designing spaces for therapeutic resorts such as reception areas, bedrooms and spas, would be suitable and comfortable for bipolar patients and take into account the visual effects that the negative effects of this disease could have. The research reached several results, the most important of which is that bipolar disease is one of the modern diseases that requires attention to it and methods of treating it, and also reaching the importance of interior design and its important role in treating the beds of psychiatric hospitals, through studying the most important standards and necessary conditions and how to achieve them, and it was one of the most important recommendations. It is necessary to raise the awareness and understanding of engineers and designers about appropriate designs for patients who suffer from some psychological problems, especially the bipolar group, and also the importance of employing natural materials in the design of therapeutic resorts.
