The effect of using the interactive e-book on develop some weave structures skills

Abstract

The current research sought to identify the effect of using the interactive e-book on both cognitive achievement and skill performance for the skills of some textile structures such as (plain and its derivatives, radiator, and satin, with a definition of looms and their types) among female clothing and textile students - Faculty of Home Economics - Al-Azhar University, for the Textile Principles course for the second year. The descriptive approach and the quasi-experimental approach were used with the aim of measuring the effect of the independent variable (the interactive e-book) on the dependent variable (cognitive achievement and skill performance of the skills of building and implementing textile structures, and the students’ attitude towards the interactive e-book). The research sample was about 46 female students after excluding the female students from the exploratory sample. They were divided into two groups, a control and an experimental group, each group having about 23 female students. The interactive e-book was applied to the experimental group. As for the control group, they were taught in the traditional way, for the academic year 2022/2023 AD, and a test was used. Electronic achievement (through a link to the test) for the cognitive aspect and an assessment scale for the skill aspect for both groups, and a measure of the attitude towards the interactive e-book for the experimental group.





The research found that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the female students for the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group in cognitive achievement. There were statistically significant differences between the average grades of the female students for the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group in skill performance.
