Abstract

Myth occupies an important place in the heritage of humanity and all its societies, and no society or civilization is devoid of myths linked to its heritage, along with the first literary and artistic forms that characterize the culture of that society, such as tales, fables, heritage stories, popular biographies, and various artistic topics. Since the topics, characters, and methods of telling myths are many and varied, it is difficult to give a general judgment about their nature, and the details of myths generally indicate how a people portrays their culture and civilization. The study of myths in this way comes in second place in terms of importance after the study of language, arts, philosophy, and sciences on Peoples.

Most myths are interpreted as being the work of supernatural forces that are hinted at without being mentioned explicitly, and they attribute the events to matters that are outside the norm of the natural world. But it is based on it in an integrated framework that combines facts and supernatural matters, so it appears completely consistent. Comparative mythology seeks to find the relationships that link some of the customs and traditions inherent in most societies, as it is noted, for example, that agricultural societies participate in offering sacrifices and offerings. The most common topics that myths address are those that justify rituals that renew life, time, sex, and life after death. The seed dies to give birth to the ear, and the new year is based on the remains of the past year.

introduction :

Myth is not just a heritage from the past, and it does not end with the disappearance of primitive cultures and ancient civilizations. In every heritage, there is a group of myths that constitute the axis on which that heritage is based, in addition to a group of myths, each of which relates to a specific sector of society, or specializes in one of its functions.

There are myths that talk about creation stories in primitive and advanced civilizations, and they talk about the “act of creation” as the formation of the earth and the world that existed before that act. The Earth pre-existed in the most primitive “origin” myths, especially in Africa.
