Abstract

Popular legends etched in the conscience of the people of the desert unforgettable stories, and breathed in a number of places a burning spirit that would not have been extinguished without the flame of those legends, and crept with their frightening and strange characters and strange tales every house and tent, and made with time a culture and identity rooted inherited generations for decades, and I do not think a council in the old only has preserved those legends and tried to instill them again in the popular memory.

The big question in this research is: Are these legends still present in the memory and conscience of today's generation of desert people?

On this topic, I will address the concept of popular myth in Sahrawi society, its function, its relationship to religion, and its present and future repercussions on their local culture, so I will try to combine the intellectual theorizing of the myth with its Arabian Peninsula.
