Abstract

God created nature with all kinds of beauty and diversity and created for it multiple environments full of living organisms with shapes, colors, lines and textures. These elements are among the factors that greatly influence artists’ experiences and inspiration. Marine organisms that are considered sustainable in their environment are characterized by their enormous diversity and unique characteristics that... Distinguishing it from other creatures on earth, and inspiration from nature is based on using nature as a metaphor for design, but in a different form and formulations in the formal outcome of the artistic work, and in creating more sustainable design solutions. The research question was determined: To what extent can marine organisms be utilized in creating designs with Sustainable solutions that enrich the artistic work. The research also aimed to reach plastic formulations for the artistic work inspired by marine organisms, and to benefit from the simulation of shapes and systems in nature to implement innovative artistic works in terms of design form and function. The research follows the descriptive analytical approach in the theoretical framework, and the research follows the experimental approach. The practical aspect includes two aspects

The first: Conducting a self-experiment that includes drawing inspiration from the nature of the appendages in sea anemones in terms of shape, structural composition, and exploitation of lines, textures, directions of movement, and their artistic and plastic features in creating two-dimensional artistic artifacts.

The second: - Artistic, aesthetic, and utilitarian re-employment of artefacts inspired by sea anemones (the result of self-experience) through producing multiple design ideas using the Photo Shop program to find various innovative formulations for a single artefact with sustainable solutions. The results of the research showed that 83% of The judges completely agreed that inspiration was taken from sea anemones, which resulted in new plastic formulations for the artwork as a result of self-experience, and 85% of the judges completely agreed that designs were created for sustainable artworks treated with the Photo Shop program that are characterized by innovation while suiting the functional aspect of the artworks.

The researcher also recommended the need to pay attention to the study of nature as a creative starting point to enrich the field of artistic works, and to enhance awareness of the importance of sustainability and sustainable design as an important trend in the field of art education.
