Abstract

Research Summary

There is no doubt that sustainable development requires improving living conditions for all humans and living organisms without increasing the use of natural resources beyond what the planet can bear. Development processes must take into consideration that, while investing in natural resources or in production processes, they should not destroy these resources. Resources are the environmental component of land, sea and air, whether due to pollution or in the process of impoverishment or destruction. Therefore, the world’s attention has recently turned to the concept of sustainable development, which is the preservation of all forms of life for humans, animals, plants and the planet Earth in general. Optimal investment must be made in the elements of production and production processes in a manner Sustainable by using multiple strategies and systems to employ, protect and preserve natural, human and financial resources in ideal ways in order to create a beneficial and sustainable balance in the long term. The best application of sustainable development is the recycling process, or what is known internationally as Recycle, which means the process in which an element or components are used to create something. New, and there are many ways to try to use leftover raw materials, and within the framework of the conscious vision of ourselves, the environment in which we live, and the future that awaits us in its various forms, art education in general and hand weaving in particular have focused on using all the raw materials and things around us that are available, more than just craft, production, and discovery. The new and useful around us according to specifications and standards that enable us to find the useful and valuable even in the midst of waste.

The researcher noticed, through her participation in teaching the handloom textiles course for first-year students at the College of Art Education, that there are a lot of leftover textile materials resulting from the stages of implementing the students’ projects. These materials are suitable for recycling because of their plastic and aesthetic capabilities and artistic values, which prompted the researcher to To pay attention to the remains of raw materials by adapting them and taking advantage of them to create textile formulations through designing and implementing artistic pieces and a variety of contemporary jewelry characterized by innovation, in light of sustainable development.
