Abstract

The Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology is one of the quality assurance mechanisms that aims to achieve customer requirements and needs, include them in the stages of product design and production, and ensure that they reach the customer in satisfactory proportions. It is a way to benefit from customer requirements in determining the characteristics of product design, the most important of which have now become Sustainability and environmental compatibility. Here the importance of the circular economy model emerges, which focuses on the method of production and consumption that includes the best use of material resources and thus reducing the input of new raw materials and avoiding the production of unnecessary waste, which leads to rebuilding capital, whether financial, manufacturing, human, social or natural, and improving Resource returns through product recycling.

Hence, the research problem focused on the urgent need to encourage institutions that design metal furniture products to adopt the circular economy methodology as an effective means of supporting the quality dissemination methodology to achieve the sustainability element in contemporary furniture products, which achieves continuity of competition in the global market, supports the country’s economy, and achieves environmental requirements.

Thus, the importance of the research is determined in the adoption of the concept of the circular economy by metal furniture design and production institutions - as one of the pillars of the methodology for disseminating quality functions - which leads to: reducing the rate of environmental pollution, reducing the rate of consumption of raw materials, increasing the competitiveness of the institution, enhancing the economic growth of the country and creating opportunities. Making, designing, more durable and innovative sustainable products that increase the quality of life.

The researchers followed the descriptive and analytical approach in examining the relationship between the circular economy and the methodology for disseminating quality jobs, and then the inferential approach in determining the impact of the relationship between them on the design of sustainable metal furniture.
