Abstract

This paper refers to one of the contributions of African cinema to enriching the heritage content of African culture and extending deep into Mauritanian identity, where Mauritanian films were overcome in search of identity and migration issues and issues of emancipation and the struggle against colonialism, which have been considered a historical document that contributes to documenting historical, political and social events, These films, which belong to the direction of the author's cinema with the first beginnings of Mauritanian cinema, appeared through the subjective experiences of pioneer directors. Through this research, one of Mauritania's experiences, a film, will be highlighted. "Timbuktu" 2015, by Mauritanian director Abdelrahman Sissako, marks an important period in Mauritania's recent history, where extremist groups dominate the ancient city of Timbuktu, and includes a film "Timbuktu" documenting the social and political life of the Tuareg tribes that inhabit the Mauritanian desert, specifically in the city of "Timbuktu", which retains the African cultural vocabulary related to Cultural Anthropology* on the study of primitive tribes in the cultural, social and political order, as the city with its ritual atmosphere and cultural symbols carries huge accumulations of beliefs and customs about Mauritanian Tuareg tribes and represents one of the forms of human survival and preservation of traditional values of African tribes.

Studying Mauritanian cinema and identifying the habits inherited by the Tuareg calls for memory of the cultural identity of African tribe's legend and heritage ", which took care of the use of African legend and heritage in their artwork, and emphasizing the local environment through panoramic depictions of the landscape of the desert city of Timbuktu and monitor the change of daily life, with director Abdul Rahman Sisaku's camera focusing on reviewing wildlife and make nature's silent voices a visual rhythm that contributes to the development of dramatic narrative, Artistic formation becomes based on visual image, creating deep layers of multi-interpretation, similar to the simplicity of Mauritanian village society.
