Abstract

Assistive technology refers to a set of tools and techniques aimed at improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and older adults. These technologies encompass a diverse range of devices and software that provide support for individuals in performing daily tasks, whether related to communication, social interaction, mobility, or other activities of daily living. Assistive technology relies on understanding the challenges faced by users and developing suitable solutions to meet their needs. User experience (UX) refers to how users interact with a specific product or service, analyzing their experiences and responses. UX plays a crucial role in the design and development of products and services, helping to understand user needs and guide efforts toward designing solutions that meet those needs. In the current era, modern digital technologies are a central focus of innovation and development in various fields. These technologies include a diverse range of tools and platforms that enable us to achieve new levels of communication, productivity, and efficiency. Among these technologies, virtual reality and augmented reality stand out, providing users with realistic experiences. Artificial intelligence technologies enable us to use data more effectively for decision-making and behavioral analysis. This study focuses on enhancing the design assistive technology by integrating user experience and modern digital technologies at various design stages, starting from understanding user needs and expectations to designing and developing innovative0 solutions that effectively meet those needs. In this context, a group of final-year students from the Industrial Design Department at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Benha University, developed an application that focuses on enhancing assistive technology using user experience and modern digital technologies. The application was carefully designed to meet the needs of potential users, with a focus on ease of use and flexibility.
