Abstract

The textile products used in cars represent about 2% of the total weight of the car, as the car consumes on average between 40-45 m2 of fabric to manufacture its components. The textile components in cars vary depending on the price, the brand of the car, its interior and exterior design...etc., because they are distinguished Textiles have characteristics that make them most suitable for use inside the car due to their high ability to absorb moisture, low cost of recycling and ease of shaping....

Through the research, a link was made between the aesthetic aspect and the functional aspect of car seat upholstery fabrics, and the properties that must be available in these fabrics to achieve the functional dimension of their use, a clear and effective relationship was found between the textile design and the area of the decorative units within the textile design, and the impact of this on the functional performance properties of the produced fabrics.

A number of fabrics with various weaving designs were produced using the (double, three-weft) Implementation method for textile fabrics (with bonding points - without bonding points) within the area of one design in the structure designs in this research, and laboratory tests were conducted for the produced samples to study the properties appropriate to the functional purpose of the final product. According to the Egyptian standard specifications for car seat upholstery fabrics, a statistical analysis was made of the results obtained from laboratory tests to study the extent of the influence of the research variables on the functional performance properties of the fabrics produced in this research.

The research aims to produce textile fabrics suitable for use as car seat upholstery fabrics, using a double weave Implementation method (bonding-non-bonding) between the two layers of the woven, to obtain the functional properties that must be available in the final product.

From studying the results of the research, it was found that the Implementation method (double) provides flexibility and freedom of movement for fabrics produced for the purpose of using them as upholstery for car seats, in addition to the presence of a significant effect of the difference in the ratio of the distribution of bonding and non-bonding areas between the two layers of woven fabric using double weave structure on the functional performance properties of car seat upholstery fabrics.
