Abstract

Abstract:

The arts in Egypt and Morocco are characterized by diversity and creativity, with cultural heritage playing a significant role in preserving the identities and histories of communities. One of the most influential types of heritage in maintaining identity is folk art, which reflects a rich cultural heritage that tells the story of both peoples and their histories, playing an important role in preserving the customs and traditions of the people.

When we integrate Egyptian and Moroccan folk arts into a unified design, it results in a new and distinctive form of design in a modern and contemporary framework.

the research problem

“To what extent can we benefit from folk art symbols in both Egyptian and Moroccan arts when creating designs suitable for printing on fabrics suitable for murals?”

Research Hypotheses

The innovative designs possess artistic values as they are inspired by two types of folk arts, Egyptian and Moroccan, and the combination of them to obtain a new form that combines the two cultures. Each is distinguished by its way of using colors and simple symbols in expression, allowing for their reorganization and integration to be used in printed fabric designs.

Research Objectives

1. Establishing a new relationship between Egyptian and Moroccan folk art in fabric design by drawing inspiration from some folk art symbols from a different perspective to create new designs for fabric printing suitable for use in making murals.

2. Obtaining high-quality designs suitable for producing printed fabrics that carry modern design structures through two different cultures.

Importance of the Research:

lies in supporting the interdependence between the heritage of both countries and obtaining a new type of designs that combines the culture of the Moroccan people and the Egyptian people.

Results

Integrating folk art into textile design is essential for preserving the cultural heritage of communities. By incorporating elements rooted in folk culture, we enhance cultural and historical identity, creating strong connections across past, present, and future generations.

Recommendations:

Work should be done to promote and support the integration of folk arts into artistic designs in general, whether by supporting local artisans and artists, or by encouraging the use of these designs in handicrafts and fashion.
