Abstract

Recent advancements in teaching have highlighted the limitations of traditional methods in interior architecture, which often fail to engage students or prepare them for real-world challenges. This paper presents innovative teaching strategies rooted in constructivist and experiential learning, focusing on the integration of digital tools, reflective practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These methods effectively humanize the learning experience by addressing the emotional and creative facets of design education. By aligning the curriculum with authentic, community-driven tasks and real-life case studies, we enhance critical thinking and professional readiness in practical field and social context among students. Situated Learning Theory underpins this approach, emphasizing the importance of socially rich, context-specific environments that foster collaboration and communication. Through problem-based learning and blended assessments, both in-person and virtual, students are empowered to connect theory with practice, and real life-projects particularly by analyzing the implementation of interior design standards in various Egyptian enterprises. This transformative approach not only fosters deeper engagement but also cultivates essential skills such as teamwork, adaptability, and innovative thinking. By encouraging students to tackle real-world problems, we prepare them for the complexities of the design field, ensuring they can navigate challenges with confidence. Furthermore, the integration of reflective practice allows students to critically evaluate their experiences, promoting continuous improvement and lifelong learning. Ultimately, these innovative strategies represent a significant shift in interior architecture education, equipping future designers with the tools and mindset necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving industry. This commitment to enhancing educational methodologies will undoubtedly shape the next generation of creative professionals.
