Summary:
Arabic calligraphy is one of the Arab- Islamic arts that were harnessed in the service of the Islamic religion, especially the Holy Qur'an the word of God, so the interest of the Muslim artist and his focus was focused around him, which called him to improvement, proficiency, development and continuous innovation through the times, so he poured all his creation into the mastery of calligraphy, especially the Kufic line and its decoration, and if we follow the many names that appeared on it, we would find these names and types have exceeded seventy types, so Islamic cities were competing in creativity in it, such as Kufa, Basra and Al-Hira, Wasit, Baghdad ,Medina, Mecca, Egypt, Cordoba, Kairouan, Iraq and the Levant, as the ages increased in his creativity, which found the Arab artistic ability paths of creativity increased the line art and creativity and output and formation in the drawing of letters and straightening and securitization and flowering and braided and forged to keep pace with the current civilization, and took a lot of geometric decorations and angles and stars, and did not reach the line to what it reached only after great efforts and many stages where the integration of the line as a wonderful technical unit, but we may find this art did not receive form the study and analysis what is worthy, next to attempts to obliterate the features of Arabic calligraphy printing at times and replacing it with Latin letters at other times, which had an impact on addressing this art for study, analysis and revival of the Arab- Islamic heritage, it is one of the greatest arts produced by major civilization, and derive from it the aesthetic values of the single alphabet of the foliated, floriated and braided Kufic script and the combination of them to achieve new plastic formulations of metal ornaments.
