Abstract
Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world system, which requires the development of a model that embodies the characteristics, behaviors, and functions of that system. The model represents the system, and the operation of that system represents the simulation. Simulation is used in many contexts, including military training, particularly live simulations, in which the system is created on the ground and includes real trainees in full gear. This has prompted countries to establish such systems, such as simulators, in the form of training villages that simulate specific environments, far from the real locations to which trainees will be exposed in the real world. However, these simulations are in a safe, controlled environment that allows for the evaluation and assessment of trainees' performance and develops their training skills in this scenography, which supports the training process and reinforces the concept of simulation. It uses construction methods that ensure the safety and security of trainees. The research addresses the researcher's practical experience, the goal of which is to design an external scene that simulates a residential neighborhood with contemporary buildings within a secure location to display combat missions for Police College students. This simulation aims to demonstrate their skills in security raids to control criminal elements, as part of the Alumni Day activities held on the 10th of September. October 2023. The research reached the most important conclusions, namely that effective training offers the most realistic and interactive solutions, reflecting real-life battlefield experiences to hone combat instincts. This is based on allowing training using weapons and equipment in simulated battlefield scenarios. Despite the boom in virtual simulation learning, live simulation remains the most suitable medium for enhancing the skills of military college students. It also enables them to maintain their training for a longer period than virtual simulation. The drawbacks of virtual simulation are that the technology sometimes overpowers its users, and virtual trainees forget what they have learned more quickly. At the end of the research, the researcher recommended the need to employ specialists in the field of decoration to create simulation systems, whether in training centers or military colleges, in a more professional manner, subject to technical supervision, not just security supervision, to achieve the desired goal, which benefits trainees and enhances their capabilities. This is also necessary to ensure that function does not overshadow form, which would deprive the simulation environment of its fundamental foundation.
