«Employing Artificial Intelligence Applications in The development of Graphic Design for Packaging with inspiration from the Fatimid Islamic Civilization.»
Packaging design is considered a fundamental pillar that expresses the visual identity of brands offering products or services to customers. Packaging must fulfill the core objectives of attracting customers, namely aesthetic appeal, ensuring protection, and providing necessary information about the displayed product. While some may believe that packaging's role is limited to preserving the product until it reaches the end customer, this is far from the truth. Packaging plays a crucial role in fostering long-term emotional connections between the brand and the customer, thereby generating direct advertising through customer recommendations and attracting potential new customers. As previously mentioned, packaging design must reflect the brand's visual identity. Here, we discuss the extent to which this long-term advertising element can be leveraged to enrich the Egyptian identity. This research explores how artificial intelligence (AI) techniques can be utilized to design innovative packaging for medicinal herbs, incorporating a visual identity inspired by the Fatimid Islamic style. The study aims to investigate the potential of AI in generating novel design ideas and enhancing user experience through practical and visually appealing packaging. The research methodology involves analyzing the medicinal herb market requirements and consumer needs, followed by examining the characteristics of the Fatimid style and identifying visual elements that can be used in packaging design. Subsequently, AI tools are employed to generate diverse design concepts, considering both functional and aesthetic aspects. The resulting design ideas are then evaluated based on several criteria, including innovation, visual appeal, practicality, and sustainability. The best designs are selected and the Fatimid visual identity is applied, with careful consideration of colors, ornaments, and patterns that reflect this style. Finally, the results are analyzed, and recommendations are provided for design improvement and development.
