Colonial City of Khartoum Schematic Concept for the Purpose of the Function

Abstract

To plan the city of Khartoum, the secrets and treasures formed from the interaction of the form with the job (the morphology of the city), through the forms, models, urban images and streets that affected the appearance of the city (the outer body of the city), and we are still discovering the secrets of that city through an urban plan drawn up previously from the British colonizer with an engineering concept to achieve a range of functional purposes

Where the problem appeared in how to benefit from applying a planning concept that serves and fits the functional purpose of the city of Khartoum (Colonial).

Through previous studies, I found a set of conclusions represented in the form of planning, the objectives that were achieved from that plan, the essential elements in the plan, the city limits, and its mixture of its inhabitants, in addition to the goals and negatives of the plan.

The Study Was Divided into Four Main Stages:

The First Stage: a The theoretical framework of the study includes the introduction, definitions, significance, study objectives, the present problem, and the methodology followed in the study.

The Second Stage: a theoretical study using the descriptive analytical approach through referring to the previous studies and a description of the planning concept for the city of Khartoum. And to determine the functional purposes of the city plan.

The Third Stage: studying the application and achievement of functional purposes through the planning concept of collecting information, pictures and maps and analyzing them.

The Fourth Stage: reaching the results related to the study and knowing the extent of the concept's conformity with the purpose
