Abstract

The world is currently facing numerous challenges, the most prominent of which is adapting to the digital age—an outcome of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions. These revolutions have compelled societies to undergo profound transformations across various sectors, particularly in industry, production, and technology. Given the close connection between applied arts disciplines in general—and advertising design in particular—and these fields, there arises a crucial need to reconsider the training and qualification of advertising designers from a contemporary perspective. This is essential to meet the demands of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions and to prepare them for future job markets in alignment with the nature of their specialization. Such efforts will positively impact contemporary advertising design in terms of form, content, and the type of advertising messages produced.

Research Importance:

This study highlights the necessity of equipping advertising designers in line with the requirements of the digital age and the industrial revolutions, addressing the evolving needs of the future labor market in the field.

Research Problem:

The research focuses on how to effectively prepare advertising designers in light of the aforementioned changes and how to define the requirements for their qualification.

Research Objectives:

• To clarify the concept and scope of advertising designer qualification in accordance with digital age demands.

• To identify the relationship between the qualification of advertising designers and contemporary advertising design.

• To present a proposal for qualifying advertising designers for future job markets and roles.

Key Findings:

1. Qualifying advertising designers in the digital age is a continuous and evolving process aligned with rapid developments in the field.

2. This qualification should not be limited to technical skills alone but must also include life skills that enable designers to integrate effectively into interactive and digital work environments.

3. AI-related skills are among the most critical competencies to be integrated into modern designer training, as they represent key capabilities in today’s digital age.

Recommendations:

1. The need to activate partnerships between universities and specialized technological institutions for the qualification of designers.

2. The importance of initiating the design and implementation of professional training programs for designers that align with the current labor market and future jobs.

3. Emphasis on designing professional training programs for designers that are rich in knowledge, theories, and global trends in advertising design.
