Abstract

Museums represent a cultural heritage and a source of information, so it is important to attract the public, especially young people; hence, the role of the virtual museum concept among the means used to disseminate cultural information, as it provides an important extension of the traditional museum. The research describes how to utilize the virtual museum to revive the cultural heritage of the traditional Siwa dress, as the research seeks to provide a comprehensive experience that combines originality and innovation by designing a virtual environment where the user can explore the Siwa dress in 360 degrees and interact with its decorative details.

The interactive experience includes buttons that allow the user to navigate between viewing the traditional Siwa dress, viewing modern 3D fashion designs inspired by the symbols and motifs of the Siwa dress, and viewing an interactive window with information about the Siwa dress and other information about the embroidered motifs’ meanings inside the dress.

The experiment showed that the usage of digital media and artificial intelligence in documenting clothing heritage enhances the value of the display and makes the content more appealing to younger generations, contributing to the preservation of cultural identity through contemporary display channels.

The preservation of cultural heritage is one of the priorities that societies seek to preserve their identity and history, especially in light of the rapid developments in the digital world. The traditional Siwa dress is one of the rich symbols of the visual meanings and beliefs inherited in Egypt's Siwa Oasis, combining decorations, colors, and symbols that reflect the Siwa women's identity and its association with social and religious events.

With the decline of traditional means of presenting and documenting this heritage, there is a need to re-present it in modern ways that rely on digital technology and interactive media. Hence the idea of the research, which aims to design an interactive virtual experience that revitalizes the Siwa dress and presents it in a contemporary way, allowing users to explore its details and interact with its symbols through an integrated digital environment, combining 3D design, artificial intelligence, and interactive programming.
