Abstract
Visual arts are one of the most important creative fields that express the identity and cultures of societies. They are not just a means of expressing feelings and ideas, but rather an integral part of human history and cultural and civilizational development. The term visual arts refers to all types of arts that rely on vision and visual perception, such as drawing, painting, photography, graphic design, digital arts, printing... and other visual and applied arts that have witnessed tremendous development with the advancement of modern technologies..
They have been influenced by cultural and social movements and modern technologies.
With the advent of digital technology, opportunities have increased for artists to use innovative tools such as 3D printing, digital graphic design, animation, 3D and 4D programs and artificial intelligence programs
On the other hand, social media has played a pivotal role in the development and spread of visual arts, as platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest have become an effective means of displaying artworks and reaching a wide global audience. These platforms are not limited to displaying art only. They have also enabled independent artists to market their work and communicate directly with the public,. This has posed major challenges, as the increasing reliance on digital tools has led to the decline of some forms of traditional arts, and raised questions about the extent of the impact of technology on the identity and authenticity of visual arts.. we will highlight the importance of visual arts, their most prominent specializations and development, and the impact of social media on their spread, while presenting the positives and negatives of these means on various arts and cultures, in addition to reviewing the skills and capabilities required to practice these arts, along with analyzing the prospects of the labor market for this field and the extent of demand for it. Based on these problems, this research seeks to study the impact of technology and social media on the visual arts, by analyzing the development of this field over the ages, in a way that ensures the continuity of the visual arts while preserving their cultural identity, with a focus on the impact of modern technology and social media in shaping the future of the visual arts and their impact on identity and society as well, and we present some recommendations that would enhance their role in society and contribute to their positive spread.
