The legal world is undergoing a fundamental transformation in light of the digital revolution, which has significantly impacted various sectors. Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as one of the most prominent features of this transformation, offering exceptional analytical capabilities, especially in data-driven fields such as law. In this context, analyzing judicial precedents through AI technologies has emerged as a strategic tool for developing legal education and bridging the gap between theoretical academic study and practical legal reality.
This research focuses on clarifying the basic concepts of AI and its legal tools, analyzing its historical development, and exploring its applications in the judicial field. It further addresses the concept and significance of judicial precedents in constructing legal arguments and outlines how AI can be used to extract legal principles, classify cases, and predict outcomes.
The study places particular emphasis on the role of these tools in legal education, through judicial simulation, promoting critical thinking, and enhancing student engagement in digital learning environments. It also highlights successful international models such as Blue J Legal, Harvey, and academic partnerships that integrate AI into legal training.
The research concludes with recommendations for building a digital infrastructure in law faculties, updating curricula to incorporate legal AI tools, and enacting regulations to govern their use responsibly—ensuring an effective balance between technological efficiency and ethical standards.
Research Problem:
Despite significant advances in AI technologies, law faculties—especially in the Arab world—still suffer from a disconnect between academic education and practical legal work. Students are often trained on theoretical texts without sufficient practical exposure to judicial precedent analysis or legal AI tools, limiting their
Research Importance
1. Scientific: Contributes to the enrichment of contemporary legal studies by integrating AI into legal analysis.
2. Practical: Introduces tools and models that enhance the efficiency of judges, lawyers, and students.
3. Educational: Proposes mechanisms to update legal education and align it more closely with real-world judicial practices
Research Objectives:
To assess the effectiveness of AI in analyzing judicial precedents and explore its potential as an educational tool for bridging the gap between theoretical legal knowledge and real judicial practice
