The influence of the Chinese environment on poster design as an input to enrich contemporary advertising

Abstract

Abstract:
The analytical study included a display of posters designed by the researcher and directed to artistic events in China, and it was addressed through four main axes as follows:
1- The first: Poster Design according to the impressions of Chinese cities: Liuzhou, Zhengzhou, Xinchang & Macao.
2- The second: Poster Design between global environmental issues and geography in China included: Combating Desertification and Drought Issue, World Environment Day, Yangtze River, Ecological Ocean.
3- The third: Poster Design and China's foreign diplomatic relations: Included: Celebrations of the 49th anniversary of setting diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and Italy in the Chinese city of "Suzhou."
4- The fourth: Poster Design and health issues in China and the world included: Combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The World Rare Disease Day.
The research attempted to answer several questions as follows:
1- What is the impact of the Chinese environment on the design of the poster presented at exhibitions and art events in China?
2- Is it possible to put a general overview on designing the contemporary poster in China now in terms of its topics by listing some aspects of relevant activities within Chinese society?
3- Can the Egyptian advertising designer penetrate the Chinese artistic and academic community by designing posters and participating in these creative events inside China?
4- What are the applied design solutions that the researcher has undertaken to participate in these various events inside China? Were these design solutions successful in display in China?
5- Has the coronavirus pandemic negatively affected the creative process of poster designers in China?
The researcher designed and translated a questionnaire into English and Chinese moreover sent it electronically to the academic poster designers, professionals, and students of art and design colleges in China, by sending it through the "WeChat" groups designated for these categories.
The researcher test on a survey sample of 60 respondents. Then applied it to the sample population of 164 people for 12 questions that covered the four research axes. The number of questions in one axis should not be less than three questions.
And one of the most important findings of the research: that the poster design can solve environmental issues in China and the world, and epidemics and diseases such as the corona pandemic have not negatively affected the creativity of poster designers in China.
