Redevelopment and design for the waiting areas of Egyptian railway station through the concept of sustainability and modern technologies

Egypt Station, or Ramses Station, is the central train station in Cairo, Egypt and is located in Ramses Square. The construction of the first railway line in Egypt began on July 12, 1851, and operation began in 1854 and it is mentioned that the supervisor of the Egyptian railway construction project at that time was The English engineer Robert Stephenson, who is the son of the famous inventor of the locomotive George Stephenson, and the length of the railway network is about 9000 km, of which about 4872 km constitute the sum of the lengths of the longitudinal lines, and the number of stations, stops and block points on the network is more than 705 stations. Transport service, in its two parts: transporting people and transporting goods, the volume of passenger transport on the Egyptian railway is approximately 1.4 million passengers per day, and the station is located in the center of Cairo, therefore it is exposed to everything that the city is exposed to in terms of temperature and wind changes, so the station is exposed to several environmental pollutants, including wind and direct dust. The station has no fenders to protect the station's users, it is also exposed to the exhaust of trains when it is running, as it operates on diesel and is also highly exposed to the exhaust of cars that are in the daily crowd of the city center. The environmental pollutants do not affect the users and workers only, but also affect the raw materials used in the station, such as external finishing of the buildings, as well as places to sit on the open sidewalks.
Research problem:
Lack of seating places suitable for human comfort.
Failure to use the area of the station sidewalks in the correct way to put places for seating, which leads to congestion of the sidewalks.
Research goal:
Providing an experiment for sustainable outdoor furniture and its effectiveness in the Egyptian railway station and employing modern technologies.
Designing seating places that achieve the suitable comfort for humans, taking into account the environmental of the place.
